The DC Chamber of Commerce is releasing its in-depth study of the State of Business in the District of Columbia. This report examines the 20 years of transformation (August 1997 to August 2017) since enactment of The National Capital Revitalization and Self-Government Improvement Act of 1997. The 1990s represented difficult times for Washington, DC., but the District has robustly returned to financial health. DC can boast more than 19 consecutive balanced budgets, significant budgetary improvements, sound fiscal conditions and strong bond ratings.

The Best City for Amazon’s HQ2? Washington, DC, of course
The DC Chamber applauds Mayor Muriel Bowser’s bid to persuade Amazon, the technology and retailing giant, to locate its second headquarters in the city. The Mayor made the announcement in a video that highlights DC as a global city, with a thriving tech sector, vibrant and creative neighborhoods, and a growing and expanding business community.
