The DC Chamber of Commerce is an advocate for its broad and diverse membership, creating a climate of growth that benefits all. Our focus is to protect and promote the interest of businesses of all sizes in the District of Columbia.  As the voice of business in the District, business advocacy and engagement in all levels of public policy is a core service provided by the DC Chamber. Led by the Chamber’s leadership, Government Affairs Committee, and staff, we monitor and get involved in issues where results could progressively or adversely affect the economy of the District of Columbia.

The DC Chamber is the voice for your business in government. We actively develop and promote policy positions on critical issues impacting the business community. Our government affairs team works to

  • Push policy priorities that support the growth of local job creators
  • Develop ongoing policy reports and research to fosters the recruitment and retention of businesses
  • Safeguard District-based employers
  • Promote economic development

A key component of the DC Chamber’s mission is to advocate the views of the business community to our elected officials. This is done by engaging elected officials in meaningful policy discussions on your behalf. The Government Affairs staff identifies, develops and recommends policy to the Government Affairs Committee and Chamber leadership. The committee is an active volunteer group of Chamber members who meet monthly to guide the  DC Chamber in its policy positions, and strategies.
