DC Chamber Committees

2010 Committee Schedule

The DC Chamber of Commerce has seven specialized committees. These committees provide a forum for participants to collaborate on important business issues, build a productive network of business-to-business relationships and play a role in the decision-making of our organization.

DC Chamber members are invited and encouraged to attend all meetings. Please refer to the schedule of upcoming dates, times and locations listed below. (All meetings are subject to change.)

 

Business Growth & Development Committee
The Business Growth & Development Committee focuses on the essential elements for developing and sustaining business growth through job creation, technical assistance and capital investment to attract new businesses and retain and expand existing businesses in the District of Columbia.

Health & Wellness Committee
The Health & Wellness Committee monitors and evaluates legislative, regulatory and policy issues that impact health care services in the District of Columbia.  The committee makes recommendations to assist the business community in making informed decisions on health care policy issues.

Government Affairs Committee

The Government Affairs Committee monitors and evaluates legislative activities--both local and federal-- pertinent to business interests in the District of Columbia.  This committee also issues position statements on legislation that impacts the majority of the Chamber's membership base.

Membership Committee

The Member Services Committee is responsible for recruiting, cultivating, expanding and retaining the membership of the DC Chamber of Commerce.  Through its Ambassador Program, it also serves as a welcoming committee--which helps new members navigate the many programs offered by the Chamber.

Development Committee
The Program Committee is responsible for planning and fundraising for the Chamber's four largest events, which are:  One Night in Vegas, the Chamber's Choice Awards Gala, the "State of Business in DC" Summit and the Annual Meeting & Chairman's Inaugural Luncheon.

Technology Committee
The Technology Committee is committed to insuring that the Chamber and our members exploit the use of technology.

Workforce Development Committee
The Workforce Development Committee addresses issues that affect the stability of the local workforce in DC and those institutions that need to work together to more effectively prepare a workforce to satisfy the skill needs of employers. This includes employer access to job seekers, training for incumbent workers and access to worker support services such as child care and affordable housing.
