The DC Chamber of Commerce Business Resource Center (BRC) provides free advisory services, technical assistance and low-to-no cost training for entrepreneurs in all phases of their business growth. We place particular emphasis and focus on strengthening existing establishments in the Takoma, DC and Upper Georgia Avenue area.
One-on-One Counseling
During scheduled sessions, counselors concentrate on the fundamentals of business planning, market research and analysis, financial record keeping, capitalization, legal structures, business licensing and certifications and other capacity building issues.
Access to Capital
The center can help new business owners navigating the various funding sources that are available through lenders and investors. We help individuals evaluate their business structure to determine what kind of capital is needed and the best ways to pursue it.
Seminars and Workshops
Workshops cover a broad range of topics such as business planning, marketing, website creation and loan application preparation. Each session is presented by an experienced professional representing the fields of banking and finance, marketing, and information technology.
Small Business Technology Learning Center
The Learning Center includes a reference library, including neighborhood profiles and retail opportunities, business start up guides, hi-speed Internet access, computer training classes, and business software.
Conference Room
The Business Resource Center is available for small business meetings. This conference includes power point presentation capabilities, conference calling, and seating for up to six people.
