Zantech was founded in 2007 to provide information technology solutions, program management services and infrastructure support to the Federal government, including the Army, Air Force, Department of Homeland Security, Department of Defense and NASA. The majority of Zantech’s workforce is based in Washington, DC, although the company has contracts as far away as Afghanistan.

Founder Zia Islam started the firm because he “was intrigued by the opportunity to run my own business and to try something completely different from what I had done up to that point. My brother had started a successful government contractor and encouraged me to consider the same path. I decided that the federal government was a good customer with lots of diversified opportunities and the Washington DC area was a great place to live, so I moved my family here and the rest is history.”   
 
Islam says he values his Chamber membership for “the opportunity to meet and get to know those that do business in my community.” He continues, “I suspect many of us share the same challenges and each of us brings a unique perspective to approaching various aspects of doing business, so it is extremely valuable to meet and share ideas and views.”
